Running slackware 9.1 (2.6.4).
I am not able to compile the 'evo-data-server' cleanly:
/*Begin errors */
gcc: /usr/lib/.libs/libORBitCosNaming-2.so: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [test-source-list] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/evolution-data-server-0.0.96/
libedataserver'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/evolution-data-server-0.0.96'
make: *** [all] Error 2
/* End errors */
Apparently, 'gcc' is looking for the above lib in '/usr/lib/' when it is
actually located in '/usr/local/lib'
See below:
agreen rufnek:/usr/local/lib/orbit-2.0$ locate libORBitCosNaming-2.so
/usr/local/lib/libORBitCosNaming-2.so.0.0.0
/usr/local/lib/libORBitCosNaming-2.so.0
/usr/local/lib/libORBitCosNaming-2.so
/usr/local/ORBit2-2.9.8/src/services/name/.libs/
libORBitCosNaming-2.so.0.0.0
/usr/local/ORBit2-2.9.8/src/services/name/.libs/libORBitCosNaming-2.so.0
/usr/local/ORBit2-2.9.8/src/services/name/.libs/libORBitCosNaming-2.so
/usr/local/ORBit2-2.9.8/src/services/name/.libs/
libORBitCosNaming-2.so.0.0.0T
Why are the libs located in a hidden directory /.libs ?? Should I use
symlinks to resolve this problem?
If so, which symlinks need to be created ?
