It's not at least in my evolution 1.4.5 I rechecked the menu and even
tried to press Ctrl-L but nothing happend. The menupoint is there but
the shortcut is missing.
IIRC the patch went in while 1.4.5 already was released. As this is a
trivial but useful patch, some distributors might have included the
patch themselves.
btw: Will it be save to upgrade to 1.4.6 or is it to "beta" for
production?
Evo 1.4.6 is in no way "beta", thus ist is totally save to upgrade.
FYI: Even version numbers (like 1.2, 1.4, 2.0) are stable releases.
Development versions do have odd numbers (like 1.3, 1.5). This numbering
scheme might be familiar from Linux kernels and a lot of other apps...
