Re: [Evolution] Evolution grabs the selection ?

FWIW i just fixed this.  I tried a few weeks ago but couldn't work out how, in the end it was trivial.

Hi all,

I have observed something strange with Evolution 1.5 : sometimes the
mail view "grabs the selection", that is if I had a gnome-terminal with
some text selected, it's deselected, and next time I paste something
with the middle mouse button, a whole mail it pasted including headers.

I don't know exactely when this happens, it seems rather randomly for
now (i.e. I didn't manage to find the exact cause).

Surprise .. this just happened. The content of the last mail I read is
now the primary buffer of X11 (I swear I didn't select that). Look at
what happens when I press the middle mouse button:

hi,

check if you have the right gnome mime-settings for doc and xls.
easiest way would be to run gnome-control-center (evolution is a
gnome-based application so it won't be interested in your kde settings)
and change "file types and programs" under "advanced".

go to "add file type", mime type should be e.g. "application/msword",
extension e.g. "doc" and then add your program to run.

(sorry, i don't know where this is saved so you could edit this without
gnome-control-center...)

hope this helps you,
cheers,

andre
