Re: [Evolution] evo and antispam

On what is Evolution's antispam feature based? Is it a new antispam
implementation, or is it based on something like dspam that claims to
do a better job of detecting spam than a human? In what version was
antispam added?

SpamAssassin will be used for spam filtering.

This feature will be available in the next stable release Evolution 2.0.
It already is implemented in current development [1] versions.

You can disable it at any time. Probably it even will be disabled by
default for security reasons -- and to cut down my support volume. ;-)

Does it require any configuration on the part of the enduser or admin?

It does not require configuration by the enduser or an admin. It should
run out of the box. However, for better results the user should mark
spam that went through, as this will train the Bayesian classifier and
will give better results once it has learned enough spam/ham.

[1] Evolution 1.5.x. Be warned, this is still beta software. Bugs are to
be expected, although it already is pretty stable at this point.
