As you likely know, there was a ton of fake messages "from microsoft"
asking people to patch up with a trojan.
Naturally, I wanted to just delete all of these en masse rather than
reading them all.
I didn't know how to do it in evolution, so I fell back on mutt, but I
imagine evolution can do this somehow.
Well, regarding your subject, the answer is plain "no". Evolution has no
capability of guessing, whether messages are "similar" or not...
My question is, how? Say you want to delete all the messages in a
folder containing a particular string in the body.
However, this easy. Right above the message list is a quick-search bar.
Set the pulldown to "body contains", enter the search string and hit
enter or the "find now" button.
Evolution will then only display the mails in the list, that match the
search query and highlight the matching text in the mails. To be sure,
you can have a quick look at all messages to not delete false mails.
