[Evolution] Weird behaviour when sending

My set up is evolution 1.4.4 obtained via red-carpet on a RH 8.0 system that is mostly up2date also using redcarpet.   (I am using kernel 2.4.20-13.8 rather than 2.4.20-20.8).

I am connecting to an exchange server using IMAP....

I have evolution configured to put my sent emails in the sent folder on IMAP rather than in a local sent folder.

The problem is that when I send emails, they intermittently get corrputed during the transfer from my OUTBOX to my IMAP based sent folder.  The message is actually sent correctly always, but evolution gets confused or locked up somehow.  Usually I am sending HTML formated mails (sorry if that offends some).  When the message gets corrupted, evolution sometimes hangs, sometimes it carries on as if nothing happened, and sometimes becomes sluggish.  

I get the message like the following in the dump file from setting CAMEL_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1

Anybody know what is up?
Here is another recent failure where evolution hung and I had to --force-shutdown.  This is the tail of the file where I redirected the output of evolution.  The message was left in the outbox, and when I restarted evolution, it forwarded the message correctly.
