I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to debug the display of IMAP
messages. It appeared that the problem, while it affected Evolution but
didn't affect Mozilla, was a server-side issue. I use Procmail on the
server (via a Web interface on the Mitel SME Server distro) to route
incoming email into my mail folders. This was somehow causing the
problem - I disabled it, tested and proved it was the cause, re-enabled
it and successfully tested it again. So, basically, disabling and
re-enabling the Procmail filters seemed to clear up the problem.
Hmmn.... Looks like I spoke too soon. As noted above, I seemed to be
seeing mail delivered to my IMAP folders. However, later in the day, and
again today, Evolution is clearly not continuing to update the number of
new messages in my folders.
Am I alone in seeing this?
I've completely removed and re-installed the application a couple of
times now, as well as making the Procmail changes I noted yesterday, but
to no effect. I was very much looking forward to making use of
Evolution's calendar features, but it looks like I will have to go back
to Mozilla and find another calendar application to use....
