[Evolution] Sync Evolution with Palm - encoding problem

Hi,
I use sync between Evolution and my Handspring Treo (Palm OS). It works
fine. But I have problem with encoding. Evolution (Linux box) use UTF8
encoding while my Treo can use only cp1250 or iso8859-2. So I have non
ASCII characters messed up. Is there any solution? 
I guess one way is to have an option for  conduits - encodings on both
sides (Palm and PC). So all (like contacts, ToDo, ...) would be recoded
while synchonizing. Does anything like this exist?
