A new window pops up when you go from the Ximian download page. There are
3 files there, red-carpet 2.0.0... and the rc and rcd files.

Good evening.
Just wanted to say thanks for it, spell check works :).
And it does look nice, does seem to load a little faster.
Using this on SuSE 8.2, there were a couple of relatively minor
problems, first one is located here:
"1.Download the Red Carpet packages for SuSE Linux 8.2 for x86."
The link brings this page up:
http://www-files.ximian.com/red-carpet/suse-82-i386/
Unfortunately this does not exist and should be:
http://www-files.ximian.com/red-carpet/suse-82-i586/
Minor issue, but some people may stop there...
Installation instructions continue the misnamed trend though:
"rpm -Uvh red-carpet-2.0.0-0.ximian.6.3.i386.rpm
rcd-1.4.1-0.ximian.6.1.i386.rpm rc-1.4.1-0.ximian.6.1.i386.rpm"
The actual three rpm's are named thus:
red-carpet-2.0.0-0.ximian.7.4.i586.rpm
rcd-1.4.1-0.ximian.7.1.i586.rpm
rc-1.4.1-0.ximian.7.1.i586.rpm
Had to force the install though, due to some applications requiring
libiirc..Or something to that effect, forcing the install doesn't seem
to have had any adverse effects though.
Onto Evolution, well it has certainly evolved; seems to use anti-aliased
fonts now and startup seems quite a bit faster. One thing though after
installation through Red Carpet 2.0, when I try to start evolution from
the command line I get two choices:
evolution-1.3 evolution-1.4
1.3 is the only one that works.
/opt/gnome2/bin has both evolution-1.3 and evolution-1.4. Is Ximian
following the Kernel by listing 1.3 as unstable, with the view that 1.4
will be released as stable?
Thats about it, no crashes or major issues yet.
Thanks,
Matt
