I'm also using KDE. And Evo 1.3.2
I did this and the font in composer haven't changed. Any ideas?
Anti-aliasing turned off though. But when I reboot computer
anti-aliasing is there again, so I have to run gnome-font-properties
again to switch it off. Is there a way to save font settings?

I know this was already asked in the list. But nobody seemed to give any

Is there a way to change the message font in the Evo composer window
(plain text)? (Changing fonts in the gnome-control-center doesn't do it)
I just did a evolution-1.3 --force-shutdown, ran gnome-font-properties,
picked my fonts, made sure that gnome-settings-daemon was running, and
restarted evolution. That's with using KDE, so I would hope that should
do it if you are running GNOME.
