[Evolution] re-sizing columns makes hard drive go crazy

Running Evo 1.4 on Mandrake 9.1, Gnome.

Re-sizing column widths in email or task lists causes unexplainable hard
disk I/O. As I drag the column border back and fourth, I can watch (and
hear) the hard drive crunch away. Doesn't affect performance, but this
can't be desirable??
