I wish to associate RFC822 formatted files (i.e. exports from pine) with
evolution I have been attempting to divine the URI schema that is
acceptable on the command-line to no avail.
I'm afraid, but I'm not sure, if I got what you mean...
Aren't those plain mbox files? mbox files are Evolutions default format.
You can import them (File / Import) if you only have some of them.
If you are not afraid of hacking the structure: You even can check the
file and path structure in your ~/evolution/local/ directory, create the
necessary directories and *.xml files by hand and copy your mbox in the
created directories. Omit all indexing files, you will only need the
'mbox' and '*.xml' files. HTH
