I can't reproduce this in 1.2.1, but the same thing happens when you
drag-to-resize the column headers in the message index. This is a known
issue... someone from Ximian once acknowledged it, though it may have
been forgotten. I just searched for a bug report and couldn't find one,
so I created this one:

I also mentioned the problem you observed, Andrew, though it should
probably be filed as a separate bug since it's in a different area and I
did not encounter it myself.
