[Evolution] new mail popup & gnome2 applet

hi all,
      Is anyone implementing this (a popup window when new mail arrives)?
Can someone give me pointers where in code this would need to be inserted?

Also a gnome applet which when clicked brings the evolution window to the 
current desktop would be cool.

Just some minor suggestions to a super cool software.
