Hi,
I get a newsletter with hyperlinks like this:
<http://dealnews.com/newsdaily.html?article,42900>
When I click on the link, it comes up in the browser mangled. You'll see
that the comma character gets translated to %2c, that might be part of
the problem. If I right-click and copy the link location then paste into
the browser, it works.
FYI, the link works OK from the mozilla mail client.
And with Evolution - at least it does for me.
I noticed that the dealnews site redirects the URL, but I think the
problem originates from the link in the e-mail client.
Gets redirected to
http://dealnews.com/articles/42900.html
right?
Yes that is what is supposed to happen. When _I_ click the link, the
browser gets sent to:
http://dealnews.com/newsdaily.html?article%2c42900
and dealnews redirects that to:
http://dealnews.com/article%2c42900
It is not dealnews that is the problem either. I just sent myself a test
e-mail with a bogus hyperlink, and what happens is the comma gets
translated to "%2c" before it hits the browser. I wonder what could be
causing that. Something in my gnome environment?
