[Evolution] signature behavior

i'm not sure if this the proper behavior or a known issue or what, but
using version 1.1.1 and plain text (on a redhat 7.1 system), i can't
seem to get signatures to work as i'd expect.  i've browsed the archives
and haven't really found anyone else with similar problems, but here
goes.

if i have a default of 'none', and choose autogenerated and have more
than one signature defined, that works.  however, if i only have one
signature defined, autogenerate does not work.  

also, if i have a default signature set, i can choose autogenerated and
get something, but choosing any of the other options except 'none'
causes no change in the signature.

am i missing something simple or is this something that could possibly
be broken?
