I have seen something somewhat similar. It seems to me that if you open
a large IMAP store, and expunge while it is still doing its refresh, it
blows up the mail component. I definitely have seen this a number of
times in the 1.1 branch.
Oh, and I am on UW IMAP.

Couldn't find anything in bugzilla about it, but the search facility is

I've seen this bug before - I think. Although I never could reproduce
it.
