Re: [Evolution] 1.2.0 problems restarting after shutdown

It's been suggested that perhaps you have a bad /tmp/orbit-<username>
directory. If you exit X and rm -rf that directory from the console,
that may fix your problem.

One other thing I should mention now realize I failed to do is that it
only happens after the system has been suspended and resumed.

If I start evolution after a reboot, i can shut it down and open it up
no problem. If I suspend the machine and resume it again, that's when
it has the pause (aswell as some other oddities like sudden strange key
mappings).

Greetings,

I recently upgraded to 1.2.0 from 1.0.8. I'm noticing an annoying
problem where if I start evolution after a system reboot, close it and
try to re-open it, it takes about 5 minutes to re-open. The splash
screen comes up, no cpu/mem/hdd activity can be seen and the splash
screen freezes so it appears as though it has crashed. If I wait for
about 5 minutes, it wakes up and loads normally. If I exit X and
restart , I get the same problem, however if I reboot the system as
opposed to waiting, it starts normally; very quickly.

I'm running RH8.0 on a Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop. I've tried all sorts
of window managers but the problem seems to follow evolution so it
doesn't look like it's the WM so it's either evolution or something
funky with RH8.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Does the problem go away if you run killev before starting Evolution?
