[Evolution] Imap question

I have an mail account I don't really use, which I can use via pop or
imap. 
When I try to set it up with pop it works perfectly, but with imap I get
an error message saying something like
Cannot connect to mail.bla.bla. Connection to port 143 refused.

Any ideas?
