Just to be clear, RC1 doesn't exist yet. Think of the splash screen as
being just a kind of feature; the latest snapshots have had the "RC1
splash screen" feature added to them, but that doesn't make them RC1,
any more than last week's snapshots were 0.16 like their splash screen
claimed.

Bleah. This sounds like bug 14092 in bugzilla, which we're currently
trying to get some more debug info on. Can you check that out?
