[Evolution] Trouble Importing .ldif files to create contact lists

Hi All

Running Evol 99.2 on RH 7.1

I am trying to import Netscape address books with the ldif format. 

I am using the File>Importer, choosing Import a single file, choosing
the correct .ldif file for import,selecting File Type LDAP, choosing a
local folder under Contacts to import into, then getting a message:
"Importer not ready. Wait 5 seconds."

The message goes away and nothing happens
I close evolution and restart it, nothing in the contacts list

FYI, I have been trying this for about a week with each recent build and
have not yet been successful

Any ideas?
