[Evolution] Problems compiling Gal-0.5

I'm down to compiling and installing the gal-0.5 before doing evolution, 
but I've hit a wall.  When trying to compile gal-0.5, I get the 
following error below.  I checked and I have gal-0.4.1-0_helix_2 
installed as an rpm from upgrading to Ximian Gnome; but, if try 
configuring the evolution package (w/out doing gal-0.5) I get a msg. 
saying that gal-0.5 is needed.

Any suggestions on how to get around this problem?  I'm trying to 
install this on a SuSE7.0 system; I have successfully installed 
evolution on my Slackware 7.0 box--and I didn't get these problems with 
gal-0.5.
