[Evolution] delete selects next message

Hi,
 I was wondering if there was a way to turn off the 'delete selects next
message' "feature" of evolution. Occasionally, I would like to read and
mark as deleted the email previous in a list w/o having to open the next
mail - specifically b/c the next mail might be huge and it might take
evo a good long while to open it.

Also is there a way to delete an email w/o opening it?
