Thanks for all the replies you really are offering some good food for
thought. Now that's what I'm talking about!

I'm down with that, what I was really looking for though is
things to try. Is there a software package, of some kind on
some unix platform, that allows for people to have similar
functionality as that of exchange?

Ximian is looking into ways of supporting this, but it won't
happen for
1.0.

Come on guys. If you want people to be able to adopt this

intelligent discussion
around this?

What can someone use to have Outlook functionality using
Evolution? That is
to say, appointments are kept in a central location,
cross-checking is done
with other peoples' schedules automatically, can incorporate
news groups,
etc? Is there some kind of free/low cost exchange like server
which will
support all the collaborative features of outlook/exchange,
using Evolution?
Any good ideas are welcome.

me
I think its really unstable (evo->evo or evo->outlook) most
of the time
evo is crashing when i try to invite someone..
Begining to feel the same way
For the Outlook -> Evo just point to
Tools->Options->Calendar Options
and set the "Send meeting request using iCalendar by
default" property
While that might work, it's not a workable soltuion in a
40,000+ user
enterprise like here at GE :)
