[Evolution] address book gone

The latest snapshot from RC doesn't seem to recognize my old address
book, which worked with the 4.19 snapshot. The file is still there, but
the Contacts window claims it is empty, no address completion is done
and attempts to add new addresses from message headers sit there saying
"Querying Addressbook..." and then time out without doing anything.
Suggestions?
