[Evolution] smtp-auth option is greyed-out

smtp-auth option is greyed-out in the widgets.  what gives?

o/s = Mandrake 8.0
Evolution Version = Gnome Evolution 0.9 (evolution-0.9-5mdk)


I did find the ~/evolution/config folder to edit the settings manually.
no other help/info files found around there for editing manually.
