Re: [Evolution] gnome 1.4

I just measured it: 12 seconds !
And I think sometimes it's slower.
I have a PII 300MHz, but when waiting for this dialog processor and disk
are idle.
RedHat 6.2, Ximian Gnome 1.4Beta, latest Evo snapshot (all by RedCarpet)

I run 2.2.18, and Evo is really slow to start the Composer, awfully
slow to
show the 'save attachment' dialog. It doesnt use processor time or
its just slow.

Well, I'm running kernel 2.4.2-0.1.48 and have no problems with

Yes I'm sure. Three different machines all run fine with a 2.2
boot a 2.4 kernel and oaf goes nuts. I can reproduce it

Install Redhat 6.2
Install Ximian Gnome.
Install Evolution

    runs fine

Install 2.4 kernel and all related packages such as modutils etc.
Evolution runs great the first time.
Login and out a few times and wham, slow as hell
This assumes you run gdm for a login manager.

You mean you aren't having oaf act weirdly with a 2.4 kernel.
have to
kill it off every time I log out (oaf-slay) or next time I log
will take forever to load.

I have the same problem!
I didn't knew it's related to kernel 2.4! Are you sure?
Hmmm... lemme see... maybe a downgrade to 2.2 will actually prove
after all... :-/
