[Evolution] Movemail permissions

I would like to thank those that have offered advice on the trouble I am having
getting Evolution to retrieve local mail.
The suggestion is that I need to have permission to create the lock file in the
directory so must set uid. Well I have tried every combination of
ownership/permissions for the directory that movemail resides but to no avail.
Any other suggestions?
