      I hope that this isn't already covered somewhere, but I did not 
see it in the archives or the documentation.

      There is a mechanism for setting up filters based on 
expressions.  But I do not know the variables allowed for the 
expressions.  I hope that there is a way to filter for, for example, 
new mail.  Ideally, then, I could set up a New Mail vFolder that 
looked through my various mail accounts and pulled out the mail 
that I hadn't read.  Is this possible?  

For what it's worth, you can sort folders by view state.

I agree that it would be nice if it were possible to search by that
field.

PS
There appears to be a problem with sorting by state. You can right click
on that field and click on ``Group by this field'' but for some reason
you can't just click on it. Also, once you have grouped by that field,
that field stretches out to fit the arrow and looks kinda ugly. (The
arrow ends up partially under the icon.
