        ldconfig -v | grep ldap

        You should get something like the following: 

broccoli:~# ldconfig -v | grep ldap
        liblber-openldap.so.1 => liblber-openldap.so.1.0.0
        libopenldap.so.1 => libopenldap.so.1.0.0
        liblber-openldap.so.1 => liblber-openldap.so.1.0.0
        libopenldap.so.1 => libopenldap.so.1.0.0

        You may need to check to see if there are *-devel.rpm packages
of some sort that you need.
