I just have one question (for now), which exactly is the GdkDrawable that
is being passed to the draw routines e.g. etog_draw?
I mean, I know what a GdkDrawable is, I just cant figure out which one is
it.


It is a temporary drawable created during the repaint operation.  It
is destroyed as soon as the image is sent to the server.
