Yes - thats the whole point of the discussion. Ramadan is not a 'holiday'
(well it is kind of) - but its also a whole month. Our months are not only
based on the phases of the moon, but it is based on the SIGHTINGS of the
phases of the moon. So if its a particularly cloudy day - well, we're in
trouble. Luckily though - I believe the calendar only has the possibility of
shifting twice per year
Islamic calendar is the fact that there are holidays. A lot of
'companies'
and stuff that either A) Are based in the Arab World or B) Are dealing
with
Arab-World countries would need this kind of functionality (since in the
Arab world we have islamic holidays). Its true that I wouldn't tell
aren't some of the islamic holidays non-constant? i seem to recall taht
one of them at least (maybe it was ramadan?) is based upon the first
sighting of a particular moon-phase in a particular area a certain number
of days after X date. something like that.
