[HC Evolution] About SMTP in evolution

Hi all

I have a question.
Does evolution supprot SMTP now?
I have heard it doesn´t just yet, and I would like to help providing that support.
In that case. I guest it has to be inside CAMEL, there is a mailing list about CAMEL or I just should use 
this one?
