[Evolution] everything compiled, now what?

Hi,

I finally sat down and compiled evolution, but now nothing works, except for
the main window.

whatever I try to do, I get a bazillion error messages... :(

am I just plain braindead? or did I miss something important along the line? I
followed the instructions in the README file...
