[Evolution] Evolution mailbox format - converting from ...

First of all, well done to evolution developers. It is looking good.

Now to my question. I used evolution to read mail from my local inbox in
/var/spool/mail

It has taken all the mail and converted it to a different format. Is the
new format some standard format, and is there a utility to convert it back
so that I can use pine to access those messages which were still in my
inbox?
