/usr/share/oaf

When I compiled oaf, I set --prefix=/usr sysconfdir=/etc

Oaf version?

I take it that if you run evolution-mail, evolution-calendar,
evolution-addressbook, evolution-executive-summary in terminal windows
and then run evolution it works? (This would indicate that oaf is not
finding the files on disk properly).

Check for stale oafinfo files in /usr/share/oaf - Michael Meeks sent
email on this awhile ago. The oafinfo files in evolution were renamed
and need to be deleted (evolution-calendar.oafinfo et al).
