[Evolution] Is the Inbox vFolder?

Is the inbox currently implemented as a real folder, or is it a vFolder?
If it is a real folder, are there plans to convert it (and any other of the
'real folders') to a vFolder? I'm referring to the interface Inbox, not the
underlying storage file...
