The easiest way, currently, seems to be to compile E-D-S and Evo from source for Precise. Unfortunately, you won't be able to build the user docs for Evo unless you also compile the doc utils from source, since the version Ubuntu ships with Precise is too old. > Is there a ppa available to upgrade Evolution from 3.2 to 3.4? None that I am aware of - if you find any, I'd be happy to get a pointer! :-) TBH, I've been in search of one myself, but was unable to find one. The Ubuntu GNOME team has already stated that they will not build Evo/E-D-S 3.4 for Precise, and Jacob Zimmermann (who did the 2.30 line) also did not have anything available when I checked last time. > Could you please point me to a document which describes the latest build > procedure? There is one in the evolution-kolab Git repo (docs/manuals/INSTALL-notes), which has the procedure. Note, though, that this document still needs to be updated for the 3.4/3.5 line of evolution-kolab. Most of the bits there still apply, but some path names have changed. Updating this document is on my agenda, but I cannot promise as to *when* exactly I can do that. I have, however, created a pre-built software stack of E-D-S, Evo and evolution-kolab for Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric. If you were to test that, you can find it under [0] (that directory my vanish in future). It is an extremely minimized build, lacking most of Evo's features, and is intended for testing of evolution-kolab, Please also note that no user docs have been built for Evo, and that the latest build of evolution-kolab available is 3.4.2, which has some bugs which have already been fixed in the Git repo. You are, however, welcome to try that build. YMMV.
