[Evolution-hackers] Interested in contributing towards project

Hey All,

I am interested in contributing to the "Evolution: Notmuch as indexer and search language" project.

I am a new contributor so please guide me to the initial phase
and spare no details.

The project also has a prototype
available. 

What extra do we need to built in this project ?
What are some mandatory prerequisites for the project ?

What should I read/download/experiment upon to start with.

Recently I have built a search engine on 42 GB wikipedia dump as a project.

In this first the wiki dump was indexed and then ranking was done based on relevance. According to my view, the problem statement of this project is not that very different from the above. Correct me if I am wrong.

I am 3rd year student in Computer Engineering. I was browsing through GSOC ideas 2014 and found the following project really interesting.

"Evolution: Notmuch as indexer and search language"

Any pointers on how to proceed would be very useful.
