I have removed the [X] button, and made it close on ESC / Focus lost.
I have put a screenshot of the application at http://www.gnomebangalore.org/images/Screenshot_0.png.
This impl also continues searching on 'ENTER' and wraps automatically at the end.

You can continually hit enter to reach the next match. The search wraps automatically and we ditched the case sensitive search since it's easier to just keep hitting enter while quickly looking and then go back when you miss it. I believe Shift-Enter is supposed to work for previous... I should try that out just to check.
