Just a limitation of the way Camel lets you add your own options.
The 'show only sub' option does precisely what 'use_lsub' used to.

If you have 'use_lsub' and not 'show only sub' enabled, then it uses the
only other sane meaning of 'active folders' that I can think of -- those
are the ones which have new mail arriving.

This would be a _lot_ better if it were to let me offer the option:

Check mail in: < INBOX only >
                  < Subscribed folders >
                  < All folders >

The mechanism, however, is sound and is the only sane interpretation of
subscription folders in the case where you are displaying all folders,
surely?

The RFC says subscription marks 'active' folders. If that doesn't mean
folders I want visible, surely it must mean folders which are active in
that they receive mail. Other mail clients may not implement
check-only-active-folders this way but perhaps that's because other mail
clients don't spent _minutes_ checking all folders for new mail while
the user twiddles his thumbs waiting for the mail he just _clicked_ on.

It's really very important to keep the number of folders checked to a
minimum, with the current IMAP code.
