Re: [Evolution-hackers] Request for change the behaviour of Navigate Through Folder List.

FWIW the new ui design will make this more practical to implement.  I think at the moment we can't really tell if it was a mouse-click or a keyboard action that selected the folder.

Hi Hackers,

As this is a UI issue, proposed for discussion. The behaviour will cause problem
to accessibility. We suggest to disable the automatic focus switch  in this case,
at least for keyboard.

Current Behaviour: when you navigate through folder list using up/down arrow, and
then you stop on  an item, focus will switch to the pane on right. If we need to navigate
to next folder, we need to tab through the panes and got focus  back on the folder list.

If we navigate speed is fast enough, focus will not switch other pane. But it will not help
much for disability. We cannot require the disabilities to navigate the folder list quickly.

How do a blind, for example, navigate through the folder list with AT-App? If he is using
gnopernicus. Before he find what folders in the folder list are, the focus switch maybe
already made he feel frustrated.

So we suggested focus should not change when keyboard navigate to a folder. Mouse click
on a folder may cause focus change to the right pane, as outlook does.

Please comment,

Thanks
