[evince] Settings schema 'org.gnome.Evince' does not contain a key named 'page-cache-size'

I built the latest Evince from source, but when I try to start it, I
get this message:

(evince:3242): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.Evince'
does not contain a key named 'page-cache-size'

I moved ~/code/evince/install/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.gnome.Evince.gschema.xml
to

/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.gnome.Evince.gschema.xml

... but the new schema isn't recognized, even when I restart.

$ gsettings list-keys org.gnome.Evince
auto-reload
override-restrictions

Can you suggest how to get the latest schema recognized?  Thanks!
