[evince] DVI support with texlive 2012

I have evince 3.5.4 on Slackware 14.0 + Texlive 20120701.
Evince seems not to build with dvi support. I built Texlive using the
slackbuild from here:
http://slackbuilds.org/slackbuilds/14.0/office/texlive/texlive.SlackBuild
which shows the configure options.
Any ideas what I need to do to get it working?
