This bug has been fixed on the development branch (2.29) of Evince that
it will turn into stable in just some days (2.30). The next version of
Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx, will come with this new version.

By now, I don't now if we are going backporting the fix for this problem
for version 2.28 because the code has been changed extensively on some
areas.

Sylvain, one of our developers, Hib Eris, is working for having a
windows port of version 2.30 ready.

PS: poppler is the library that Evince uses to translate PDF commands
into pages using cairo, another library for 2d drawings.
