First, "PDF Printing 600dpi" is the title of the document, it has
nothing to do with the dpi used by Evince. It was set by the program
that produced the PDF document (a PDF printer I guess). The DPI is
calculated as explained on [1]. Surely your problem is related with the
poppler bug #bug 5589 and it has already been fixed in recent versions.
If you have the same problem with a recent version of Evince, then it
should be another bug :) and we'd like you report that.
