Salve,

during the past Evince releases I have been patching it with the patch
from [1] to get much nicer fonts.

Now, from release 2.27.4 the patch won’t give me LCD filtering anymore.
I assume this is because in commit 839ffed6 the switch to ARGB32 and a
subsequent fill will overwrite the subpixel tristimulus values. But that
is a bad guess only.

Is there an interest to finally follow the desktop font settings? The
image in [2] shows that fonts have much better contrast when optimal
settings are used.

My stop-gap question is, how do I make the patch work again?
