CUPS printer not shown in Print dialog box

Hello,
My CUPS printer is not shown as a printer choice in the Print dialog
box. In other applications, it shows right up.
print to lpr and file are shown
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, because otherwise I like
this program.
Running Suse 10.2, 32 bit
evince 0.6.1
canon s520 via usb
compaq presario v2000, AMD Turion64
