That is exactly the logo we have been using all this time, that was 
removed recently.

If you go to http://www.adobe.com/acrobat you'll notice it's exactly the 
same as Adobe's Acrobat logo.

I think the issue is that even if it's modified, if it's still to be 
recognizable, it would have to be similar enough that it could cause issues.
