does evince remember site-numbers?

Hi List.

Im using evince since a while and one of the features i would like to
see in the future is that it remembers at which site-number i left a
pdf (like kpdf does).

Lately somebody was praising evince in the gentoo forums exactly for
this feature which i always believed to be not existing.
I asked him if he maybe confuses evince with kpdf but he repeated his
claim that evince would open his pdfs where he left them.

Does Evince already have this feature?

If yes, why could it not work for me (using poppler and evince from cvs)?
